The Reverend Erica Wooff
Vicar of Stockwell
Before being ordained in 2005, Revd Erica Wooff was a British Diplomat working in China and Eastern Europe. Since ordination, Erica has worked as a parish priest in South London, in Sydenham, Charlton and, for the past 8 years, as Vicar of Stockwell. Over the years, Erica has also served as a trustee of Southwark Diocesan Board of Education, Together Southwark (the charitable wing tackling poverty issues in the Diocese), and as a member of the Steering Group of HeartEdge, a charity run by St Martin-in-the-Fields church, Trafalgar Square, which brings churches and communities together to work collaboratively for the common good. She has also been a school governor for 16 years, including Chair of Governors of St-Martin-In-The-Fields High School for Girls.
Erica is passionate about gardening and education, and combining the two, particularly for the development of children and young people as individuals who can make informed choices about their lives and lifestyle choices. Erica believes strongly in growing skills and knowledge, and also believes in physical, personal and creative development. Gardening and its theology is about improving skills and knowledge, developing friendships, having fun and growing spiritually. To this end, Erica has lectured at Westcott House, Cambridge and St Martin-in-the-Fields church on the spirituality of gardening. Erica regards it as an absolute privilege to be a trustee of Kew Theology and Gardening.
