Christopher Stephens CBE

Christopher Stephens has lived in Kew for 45 years and been a member of the St Anne’s congregation throughout that time. He has had two substantial stints on the PCC and chaired Churches Together in Kew for ten years.

Professionally, he worked for 30 years in the Commercial sector ending as the Global Human Resource Director of what is now DHL. He then worked in public service including 5 years as a Civil Service Commissioner and six years as Chair of the Judicial Appointments Commission.  He is an enthusiastic allotment gardener and has planted 1100 oak trees at his home in North Wales. He has an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics as well as a BA in Theology. He is a founder trustee of Kew Theology and Gardening, hoping to see the church taking its environment responsibilities ever more seriously while supporting individuals to fathom some of the hard choices facing society.
